Cassia Beck 2

These photos were taken on my camera with my retro mode to warmen it and make it come across 'vintage' style like the photos of inspiration. I tried out loads of different angles and psoitions to take the photos of the shoes to experiment.
When taking the photos of the heel I used depth of field on my camera and focussed on the heel clostest to the camera so it stood out against the others and looked effective.
When taking photos I always now try to focus on ISO or depth of field, rule of thirds to get an effective photo and to show my experimentation.

Alexandra Zaharova

This is an artist I found on google images and went into her website and looked at her couple pictures and thought how much it links with my John Rawlings shoot as I focus on colour such as the orange hat and orange clothes but also the bold prints such as the blue coat shoot.
Her link is above and she focusses on fashion and art and I think her work is amazing. The link I am about to put really focusses on matching colours with little things such as hair colour, make-up and clothes. > http://alexandrazaharova.com/portfolio/beauty/color-blow#1

She uses shutter speed in her 'colour blow' pictures to capture the movement of the paint or dust, but as I am focussing on texture of fabric and clothes I can't use this. Her photos are always taken in studios so she uses studio lighting which links in with my shoots I do at home especially in my John Rawling shoot with the black fabric over the models face and red lipstick.

Nathan McCreey and Cassia Beck shoot

These pictures are a mixture between Nathan McCreey and Cassia Beck - Cassia Beck with the shoes but Nathan McCreey with the texture and using black and white.

This photo I choose for a final piece because I love the richness of the colours from the shoe. The beads and colours are the main focus and they are very sharp. They seem rich and I chose to go off the film/vintage look by making it seem more modern and bold.

I used depth of field with this picture so I was focussing on the heel and the leather material and used a vintage 1960's effect on Picnik to give it the film/old-fashioned effect like Cassia Beck.

Using the rule of thirds with this picture and I chose to use this fabric because it's black stiching and white background so using the black and white effect it contrasts the colours more which is like Nathan McCreeys style.

This photo I used some lighting techniques by putting the lamp over to the left so this shows light and dark bits of the texture. I really like this photo because it's quite different and I think resembles one of Nathan McCreey photos a lot as it seems quite abstract.

John Rawlings 4

These photos I really like because I used the retro effect and contrasted it so the black veil/fabric and the red lipstick looks really good and sharp against the black. Definately gives off the effect of 1940's/vintage way especially as I used the the retro mode on my SLR camera. Using a white background also contrasts against the other colours. I edited it and warmed it a bit on Picnik to make the photo have a 'soft' affect but to make it seem still like it was making a statement as back in the 1950/60's the women were inspirations.

Fashion merging

Fashion, a general term for a currently popular style or practice, especially in clothing, foot wear, or accessories. Fashion references to anything that is the current trend in look and dress up of a person. The more technical term, costume, has become so linked in the public eye with the term "fashion" that the more general term "costume" has in popular use mostly been relegated to special senses like fancy dress or masquerade wear, while the term "fashion" means clothing generally, and the study of it.

An important part of fashion is fashion journalism. Editorial critique, guidelines and commentary can be found in magazines, newspapers, on television, fashion websites, social networks and in fashion blogs. At the beginning of the 20th century, fashion magazines began to include photographs of various fashion designs and became even more influential on people than in the past. In cities throughout the world these magazines were greatly sought-after and had a profound effect on public clothing taste. Vogue founded in the US in 1892, has been the longest-lasting and most successful of the hundreds of fashion magazines that have come and gone. Increasing affluence after World War 2 and, most importantly, the advent of cheap colour printing in the 1960s led to a huge boost in its sales, and heavy coverage of fashion in mainstream women's magazines—followed by men's magazines from the 1990s.
